Be Happy – Promote Friendship

A friend is someone who knows all about us, and loves us just the same. Friendship is a wonderful bond, an enchanting chemistry between people, which feels like magic. On Friendship Day we should make our friends feel extra special and must reach to all our friends and loved ones. A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway. Rose is a flower that lives for an hour. Friendship is a tower that lives for ever. Remember, the greatest gift is not found in a store nor under a tree, but in the hearts of true friends. There is a Jewish Saying, “Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.” Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you. Albert Camus says:
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Just walk beside me and be my friend

The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend. We must identify a true friend and hold him with both of our hands. Actually, a faithful friend is the medicine of life. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same. Friendship multiplies the good of life and divides the evil. Friendship needs no words. Friends are the sunshine of life. The best mirror of our life is an old friend. We must agree that one who looks for a friend without faults will have none. But your true friend will keep your faults close to his chest. A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out of your life. Friends are needed both for joy and for sorrow. Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of the entire world. It doubles our joy and divides our grief. We must count our age with friends but not with years. We may plant a seed of friendship and can reap a bouquet of happiness. We must keep our friends as misers do their treasure, because, of all the things granted us by wisdom, none is greater or better than friendship. It is essentially a partnership.

A friend loves at all times. A companion loves some agreeable qualities which a man may possess, but a friend loves the man himself. Friendship is a strong and habitual inclination in two persons to promote the good and happiness of one another. It makes prosperity more brilliant, and lightens adversity by dividing and sharing it. True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost. Friends show their love in times of trouble. One loyal friend is worth ten thousand relatives. Because a good friend is your nearest relation. Your true friend is a person who will tell you your faults in private. Your friend is your needs answered. A sympathetic friend can be quite as dear as a brother. A true friend is the greatest of all blessings, and that which we take the least care to acquire. No man is useless while he has a friend. A friend is a present you give yourself. Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends whom we choose. But you cannot be friends upon any other terms than upon the terms of equality. It is not what you give your friend, but what you are willing to give him that determines the quality of friendship.

Emphasizing the importance of friendship, Leo Buscaglia says, “A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world.” Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty. Good friends are good for our health. The language of friendship is not words but meanings. True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity, before it is entitled to the appellation. We must ensure that life is fortified by many friendships. To love and to be loved is the greatest happiness of existence. Mahatma Gandhi says, “It is easy enough to be friendly to one's friends. But to befriend the one who regards himself as your enemy is the quintessence of true religion. The other is mere business.” A true friend is one who overlooks your failures and tolerates your success.

Do not protect yourself by a fence, but rather by your friends. Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget. When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there. True friendship never ends.

Emily Dickinson says, “My friends are my estate." A hug is worth a thousand words. A friend is worth more. Everyone is a friend, until they prove otherwise. Every person is a new door to a different world. We may try to find out a friend out of him. Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life.To be depressed is to be lonely; to have a friend is to be happy.- Guido Friendship is a pretty full-time occupation if you really are friendly with somebody. You can’t have too many friends because then you’re just not really friends. Friendship: a building contract you sign with laughter and break with tears. Friends are God's way of taking care of us. It's the friends you can call up at 4am that matter. A friend is a gift you give yourself. Friend is a person known well to another and regarded with liking, affection and loyalty. Misfortune shows those who are not really friends. The friendship that can cease has never been real.

A friend is someone who reaches for your hand, but touches your heart. Friendship is co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. A group of friends consists of two or more people who are in a mutually pleasing relationship engendering a sentiment of camaraderie, exclusivity, and mutual trust.

In the sequence of the emotional development of the individual, friendships come after parental bonding and before the pair bonding engaged in at the approach of maturity. In the intervening period between the end of early childhood and the onset of full adulthood, friendships are often the most important relationships in the emotional life of the adolescent, and are often more intense than relationships later in life. However, making friends seems to trouble lots of people having no friends can be emotionally damaging in some cases. Sometimes going years without a single friend can lead to suicide, however, this affects men more then women. Friendships do not play key role in suicidal thoughts of boys. A long time of friendship may also result in marriage; too much friendship is followed by a compromise.

Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them.

Friendship is the most valuable relationship in our human society. We must promote it to the welfare of all ignoring our small scale interests. In case we find that there is some clash of our interests at the cost of our friendship, we must try to reconcile and promote our friendship. Be Happy – We may promote our friendship.
